58th Independence Anniversary Marks New Beginning For Our Nation, Says VP Osinbajo

REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO, SAN, GCON, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, AT THE INDEPENDENCE DAY INTERDENOMINATIONAL CHURCH SERVICE, AT THE NATIONAL CHRISTIAN CENTRE, ABUJA, ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2018.

Before I make my brief remarks, may I ask that we rise for a moment, to honour the memory of one of our gallant military officer, Air Force pilot, Squadron Leader, Bello Baba-Ari, who died last week Friday during the air exercises preparatory to our Independence Day events. We pray for comfort for his wife and family, and all his loved ones in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

We also pray for quick recovery for the two other pilots who are at the moment in hospital, in Jesus name, Amen.

We must praise the Lord God Almighty, that we are here present, on this 58th Independence Anniversary of our nation, Nigeria.

God is indeed worthy of praise for preserving each and every one of us to see this anniversary, blessed be His holy name.

This birthday anniversary of our nation is an opportunity to bless our nation, to declare blessings upon our nation, and upon the people of our nation, for all of us present here and everywhere.

Please rise so we can bless this nation, as I make the following declarations over our great nation; Nigeria, this 58th year of your independence will mark a great new beginning of peace, prosperity, and abundance in the mighty name of Jesus!

The word of God says in Psalms 75:6-7, “ For exaltation comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the Judge, He puts down one, and exalts another. Nigeria you will be exalted, you will not fail, you will not fall, you will excel, you will rise beyond the imagination of the world, and you will be a pride to Africa and the world, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.

Nigeria this is your season of exaltation, renewal and restoration, and all we have lost will be restored, where you have failed we will succeed in the mighty name of Jesus

The Word of God says in 2 Timothy 4:18: “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!

We declare that death and destruction and every device of Satan has failed over Nigeria. We speak life, life more abundant to you Nigeria and Nigerians in the mighty name of Jesus.

Every person of Nigerian blood I declare concerning you, that this is the season of your promotion and you will be promoted, this is the season of joy for you, you and your families will experience great joy and favour in Jesus name.

We declare concerning you Nigeria that you are entering into your season of exceeding greatness and great favour in Jesus name.

I declare concerning every person who is here, and concerning Nigeria, everywhere a Nigerian lives, whether here on the soil of Nigeria, or anywhere else in the world, we declare that from now on, you will be great! From now on, you will know progress, you will go forward, you will never go backwards, you will see joy, you will see God’s favour, you will receive His mercy, everywhere you are, you will be recognized for good. Your children will not die, none will die young in your midst and in your families in the mighty name of God.

For all of us, we will not die; we will live to declare the awesome glory of the Lord in the land of the living in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In this nation Nigeria, the Lord Jesus Christ will be exalted in the mighty name of Jesus. Blessed be the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus we have prayed.
