REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO, SAN, GCON, ACTING PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AT THE 50TH BIRTHDAY THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR DR. PAUL ENENCHE IN ABUJA ON THE 13TH OF AUGUST, 2018

PROTOCOLS

Let me first say how greatly honoured I am to celebrate with our brother and this great man of God on his 50th birthday. And as he has pointed out, he is an absolute miracle. Because, clearly, anyone who has such a great destiny brought upon him must have been challenged.

And as he has already pointed out to us, we want to thank the Lord for the great miracle of today, the great miracle of 50 years of a great man, a great man of God, Dr. Paul Enenche.

Just looking around at all of those who are here today, it is so obvious that there is something very special about the celebrant. If you look around, you would see all of the very distinguished men of God led by our Father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo and his wife, Bishop Faith Oyedepo. And of course, all the other great men of God who are here.  We have our National Legislature, the Speaker of the House, Governors, Deputy Governors, and so many more.

I think it is so obvious, and I’m sure nobody needs to remind you, Pastor Paul, that you have an enormous responsibility to a whole generation of people, and that is why there is such a representation here today.

So, while we are excited for you at the age of 50, I think it is also true that we must also soberly reflect on the great and mighty responsibility you have, and just as Bishop Oyedepo has already prayed for you, the Lord God Almighty will help you.

And so, I would just add to the prayers. As the fathers have already prayed, and the prayers of all the friends and brethren who are here.

Of course, you know that we would always have you in our prayers. My wife and I have been tremendously blessed by you and Pastor Becky. Maybe even more so by Pastor Beckey because of her great smile and great encouragement.

I want to say that we are so deeply grateful that we can call you our friends.

Scripture says, as your days, so shall your strength be. And we pray that, as your days, so shall your physical strength be.

The word of God says that Moses, even at the age of 120, his sight was not dimmed, and his natural figure was not diminished in any way. So, it shall be with you also.

Your sight would not be deemed even as you keep up 120, and your natural figure would not be diminished in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.

The Bible tells us also that Isaac was not only great and rich, Scripture says, “and the man waxed great and went forward and grew until he became very great.”

And so indeed, He would be with you also. That you would not only live, but wax very great indeed in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.

Scriptures again tell us that financial strength is part of strength. You would not be weaker in strength. You would not be poorer in old age. As you grow older, you will even become richer. Wealthier every day in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. As your days, so shall your wisdom be also. You would be wiser every day.

The scriptures tell us that the wisest man on the face of the earth at some point was Solomon, but in his old age, Solomon wasn’t getting wiser because he married 300 wives and 700 concubines. And so, he might have become even more foolish, but you would be wiser in old age. You will marry only your wife, Pastor Becky, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.

The word of God tells us that the part of the just is as a shining Light.  And so, we declare concerning you that your path will be brighter and brighter every day until that perfect day in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.

We are reminded in Nehemiah 6:3, that the enemies came, and Sanballat and Tobiah came and began to shout to Nehemiah to come down and join them. And Nehemiah knew that they had no good intentions for him. And scripture says he said to them, “I have a great work that I am doing, I will not come down.”

You also have a great work that you are doing, you will not come down. You will remain up there in the name of the Lord Jesus. The Lord God Almighty will help you every day. You would not be diminished in any way. The great work that you have started, God Almighty will help you, not only to complete it graciously, but to finish strong and well in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.

The Lord God Almighty would help you all the time. All of your children would surround you. For your wife and children, none of them would suffer untimely death. None of them would suffer sickness. None of them would suffer harm in any way in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. You will always be strong all the time in Jesus’ mighty name.

I want to say that the Almighty God who has helped you so far will see you to a strong end in the mighty name of Jesus.
