Brief Remarks By His Excellency, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide Centenary Celebration, Theme: 100 years of Walking with God, held at Babalola International Miracle Camp,  Osun state – 24th November, 2018

Speaking on the theme of the centenary is ‘100 years of Walking with God,’ the vice president said that God has demonstrated through the Christ Apostolic Church movement that he did not need many to do His work, neither did he need professors or men of great scholarship to propagate the gospel.

“The anointing of God has made it such that the humblest of men, even the least educated of men and women can bring the good news, unshackling chains of captivity of the devil, delivering the oppressed from evil spirits, healing the sick, and even raising the dead,” he stated.

Adding: “For good measure, it was in this town that the undisputed leader of the indigenous Pentecostal movement Apostle Ayo Babalola was called to ministry by the LORD.

“The seed planted by Apostle Babalola has yielded the incredible harvest of salvation of souls in Nigeria for a hundred years now. From the CAC movement men, women and churches have gone forth into the world spreading the gospel from their own Jerusalem to Judeas and to the ends of the earth…glory to Jesus.”

He charged churches in Nigeria to promote unity with all sense of sincerity, saying the first responsibility of the current generation of saints was to be united.

The church of Jesus Christ, according to him, must stand together and not continue as some did in the early days of the church in allowing themselves the divisive narrative of ‘I saying am of Paul, they are of Apolos. I am of Cephas, 1 Corinthians 1:12-13.’

The second responsibility, Osinbajo stated, was that of accurate documentation of the great works that God had done in these many decades through his apostles in Nigeria.

Said the VP: “I am a Professor of the law of evidence. In my entire adult life, I researched, published, and argued about the primacy and validity of empirical proof. It is only what you can prove by logical evidence that is to be believed.

“But God opened my eyes to the evidence of things that are not seen as a demonstration of His power and His almightiness. This is why the testimonies of the great works of the men and women of the CAC must be documented properly and shared,. The Bible contains the Acts of the apostles of old. But Jesus said greater works than He did and indeed they did would we who believe do. We must document for those coming after us the Acts of the Apostles of Nigeria, led by Apostle Babalola.”

“The third is the duty of the church to disciple the Nations. The Bible says that we are the salt of the earth the light of the world.

“Again Romans 8.19 says that the earnest expectations of the creation eagerly await the revealing of the sons of God. We must teach our country righteousness and integrity. It is righteousness that exalts a nation.”

“As Christians, our duty as gospel propagators is also to change the narratives in our country. Politicians don’t have the answer to all the wrongs in the country. It is the Church of the Lord, Jesus Christ that has the answers to the transformation of nations,” he said.

The Vice President added, “the essence of the gospel is for us to teach righteousness so that our nation and our people will be exalted.”

Enjoining the Christians to “join in establishing the virtues of God in politics, business, in entertainment, literature, science, etc.” the Vice President appreciated “God’s power and mightiness” in the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide since its inception 100 years ago till date as manifested in its spreading of the gospel and salvation of souls.

“God has demonstrated through the Christ Apostolic Church movement that He does not need money to do His work.  Neither does He need Professors and men of great scholarship to propagate the gospel.  The anointing of God has made it work that even the humblest of men and women can bring the good news of delivering the oppressed from the evil spirit and captivity of the devil, healing the sick, and even raising the dead.  That is the marvelous power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Professor Osinbajo said “this generation of believers has a duty to take the gospel to the next level in their own time. God is quick to send to each generation all that they require to do exploit for the gospel.  This generation of faith has our own responsibility to our generation.  The first responsibility that we have is to be united regardless of denominations.

” Let us, therefore, march forward in unity and propagate the gospel to deliver the millions waiting for salvation regardless of our denominations knowing that Christ is the counterpoint of our faith.”

Professor Osinbajo however advised the leadership of the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide to “accurately document for posterity the great work that God has done in the very many decades of the gospel in our country through His Apostles in Nigeria.”
