“I will carry this message back to Mr President. He has always been very anxious, very concerned about what is going on in Zamfara State and in other parts of the country.

“One of the things that will gladden his heart is that things are getting better. And I want to thank his Excellency the Governor for all the work that he is doing in the state especially to improve the economy,” the VP added.

“You are the ones carrying the message back to the people. This government is one that has faced many difficulties, many of them are difficulties faced by governments all over the world, some of them are peculiar to us. We did not know that there will be COVID-19. Two years have passed; the whole world is still under one kind of COVID issue or the other.

“I want you to constantly remind people that the government is committed to their welfare, but there are difficulties and challenges, God will help us to surmount those challenges.”

Prof. Osinbajo had earlier condoled the traditional rulers on the killings in the State, noting that “the loss of one life is precious in the sight of God. I extend my sympathies and pray that we will not experience this kind of thing again, and by the Grace of God we will not see this kind of killings.”

Speaking on behalf of traditional rulers in the State, the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Bello thanked the Vice President for the visit and assured him of the support of the traditional institution in tackling insecurity in the State.
