TRIBUTE BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO, SAN, GCON, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, IN HONOUR OF THE LIFE OF PASTOR DARE ADEBOYE ON THE 10TH OF MAY, 2021

Dolapo and I were deeply saddened by Dare’s passing, and as we grapple with this enormous loss, we are continuously reflecting on his remarkable contributions to Ministry and the lives of so many that he touched deeply.

Dare generationally and intuitively represented in many ways, the future of Christian ministry. A new generation birthed in a period of great turbulence in ideas and doctrines, a surfeit of distractions but committed to ensuring that the unvarnished gospel is preached to that generation.

He understood the dynamics and urgency of reaching young people with the gospel, especially because of their fundamental role in the sustainable growth of the church of God. He knew what was important to do and to emphasize and he worked very hard, everywhere, with the zeal and speed of one who knew that we don’t have all day.

Despite his relative position of privilege, he was deeply and unpretentiously respectful, not just of elders and those in authority, but of everyone, even his subordinates. Everyone has a story to tell of Dare’s warmth, compassion, friendliness, and his open displays of affection for others.

We will remember Dare for many things he did in that uniquely passionate way in Ministry, but we will remember him most as a true child of God, who demonstrated the love of God to all that came across him. We will miss him and his kind, gentle and convivial manner.

We mourn with his wife, Temiloluwa and children, Oluwatishe, Ireoluwa, and Araoluwa; our parents, Daddy and Mummy G.O, his siblings, family members, and the entire RCCG family. We pray that the Lord will comfort us all in Jesus’ name.
