REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO, SAN, GCON, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AT THE BUILDING DEDICATION CEREMONY OF RCCG, CITY OF DAVID, ABUJA ON THE 12TH SEPTEMBER, 2021

Let me say how very privileged I am to be here today to join you in the celebration of the dedication of this magnificent edifice to the glory of God and for the worship of the living God, the City of David, Abuja.

This is a very special parish as we have heard from Pastor Idowu Iluyomade. It has a name of a church that has shown itself to be able to do incredible things by the power of the Almighty God, the City of David in Lagos on which you take this illustrious name.

City of David, Lagos is one that has now built the largest building in the city of Lagos, the Trinity Towers. And I mean that seriously, that is the largest commercial or non-commercial building in Lagos today.

I noticed that the motto, “A Place Where Legends Are Made”, and when I saw the young man, EmmaSax playing his Sax so maturely and was such a distinct tone, I was convinced that indeed, the time will come when we will begin to see some even more incredible talents – men and women of international stature here in this church. And I pray that that will be the case in the mighty Name of Jesus.

The House of God is a place where, as the General Overseer has said, miracles, signs, and wonders will happen.

But those who build the House of God are very special to God. David did not even build a house, he just thought about building a house – he thought about building a temple for God, and God said just for thinking about it, just that it occurred to you, I will bless you for generations and generations, and there will always be a man on the throne.

Your descendant will always be on the throne of Israel and God has kept His promise even to this day.

So for those of us, and for those of you members of this church, who have contributed financially, morally, and in various ways to the building of this church, it is evident that God Almighty is going to do great and mighty things in your life. Think of what He will do for those of you who have thought it fit to actually build a church – this church is the least achievement that you will ever have in the mighty Name of the Lord Jesus.

And in the words of scripture, the glory of the latter temples is surely greater than before. And that shall be so, not just in the church building for you, but in everything that you set your hands upon in the mighty name of the Lord, Jesus.

So I congratulate you again Pastor Gbolade, I know that this is only the beginning – God bless you and God bless RCCG City of David, Abuja.
